We are so excited and honored to be given a sneak peak at the new Orbit Baby Helix double stroller today before the ABC show next week! All of our expectations were met and I am even more in love with this stroller than I thought!
Wondering what all the buzz is about? Well read on and you’ll soon learn that Orbit Baby has just released their brand new double stroller that has been dropping jaws since we first blogged about it last year! It is called the Helix Double Stroller.
The new Orbit Helix System is a luxury, convertible stroller that you can use as a single or double stroller depending on your lifestyle and growing family’s needs. The Helix Double Stroller offers you 2 options to purchase, both providing you multiple seating options/configurations for many years to come.
1. You can choose the full Orbit Double Helix Frame ($750) if you need a double stroller immediately and add any G2 seating options to fit your family’s needs at the time. The Helix will accommodate the G2 Stroller Seat, The G2 Infant Car Seat, G2 Bassinet and also the G2 Toddler Car Sea.
2. Another option Helix offers is the ability to only purchase the Orbit Helix Plus Upgrade Kit ($350). Please note: you will have to already have the G2 single frame.
I have to admit, I was a little skeptical on how this double stroller would maneuver because the Helix Double Stroller is a true tandem stroller (each car seat/seat are full sized) and sometimes tandems can feel really long and often are cumbersome to make turns. Well, there were no disappointments during my demo at all in fact, I was pleasantly surprise and really excited to offer the stroller in our store. I like how the Helix double includes an additional set of wheels making a total of 6 which makes this stroller turn on a dime. The Helix also has quad shocks that make this stroller push like a dream.
You’ll also be excited to know that the fold and storage with the Helix Double is almost just as compact as the G2 Series Frame (give or take a few inches) and all of the pieces are still designed to nest with each other in your trunk.
OK, let’s talk price. It goes without saying that Orbit Baby is always dead on with producing a luxury stroller that is safe, ergonomically correct, and second to none in quality and that usually comes with a price tag. One important factor to remember is that you only have to purchase the Helix Double Frame and then choose your seating options based on your individual needs at the time. For example, if you already own the G2 Frame with all the seats, you really only have to purchase the Helix Upgrade Kit at first or even at all!.

I have the Orbit stroller generation 1, and I am now pregnant again. So I was excited that a new frame came out but can I even buy the frame and use the seats I have??? I know it says generation 2 can be used but it says nothing about generation 1
