We are bursting with joy about our new luxury stroller line iCandy! We have already sold a couple out of our Tampa showroom and we love showing the iCandy off to local customers.

If you have never heard of iCandy, it is a family owned business based in Britain who’s been in business for 80 years and they are masters in providing child safety products. Combined with that mastery is Britain designers who are hell bent on making a fashion statement. If there were a designer name in strollers, iCandy would be at the top of the list.

Mom and dad, if you are looking for a quality stroller that focuses on safety, functionality, and easy maneuverability the iCandy strollers are for you. We just hope you won’t mind making a fashion statement as well! You have so many to choose from. There’s the iCandy Cherry, Apple, Peach, and Pear. All of which can covert from a single stroller to a double with a snap! iCandy is also known for its ability to fold easily with one hand. How cool is That!?!

Pre-Order Today!

Talk about “out with the old and in with the new” or “that was so 2010″; Let’s Go Strolling is proud and thrilled to be one of the few retailers to introduce a sneak peak at the Mountain Buggy Free Rider that truly takes stroller ride on boards to the next level!

So here’s the deal, The Mountain Buggy Free Rider won the Kind + Jugend 2010 (the leading global fair for the baby and juvenile products industry) Innovation Award for the first 2-in-1, click and go scooter and buggy board that allows a child to ride close (buggy board) or free (scooter mode).

Huh? I know, super cool, simple concept, multi functional and at the same time perplexing why it was not thought of before!

So, picture the family travelling to the park. Mom pushing the stroller, older sibling “in tow” (on Free Rider buggy board) THEN once you’ve arrived, simply unhook the free rider from your stroller and within seconds (no tools required) your child can scoot independently just like any ride on scooter would allow them to! Look Out Razor Scooter!

Why We Love it
The versatility, value and life of the Mountain Buggy Free Rider really can’t be beat. At a competitive price of only $99.99 you have both a ride on board for your stroller and also that highly sought after preschooler vehicle called “the scooter”. That will last for many, many years!

The colors will appeal to both girls and boys, which is a refreshing twist for ride on boards; including pink, blue, black and orange.

Compatibility is still unconfirmed but my sources say there will be other strollers thrown into the mix of Mountain Buggy Swift, Urban Jungle, and Urban Jungle Duo. Stay tuned or call for more details and information.

• weight: 5 lbs
• weight load: 45lbs
• width: 8 inches
• length: 2.2 feet

So what do you think of the Mountain Buggy Free Rider? Can you see yourself owning one?

Post your comments and questions we LOVE to hear your thoughts!

Happy Strolling!

Wow! I just read an article from the UK’s BBC and they have said that stroller (buggies as they refer to them) theft is worth £60 Million (British Pounds). That is a lot of hot buggies! They said that sales of the top end stroller brands are up 40% and the theft of these stroller have doubled in a year!

According to the BBC the criminals easily sell them online at auction sites to unknowing parents who are driving this black market trade. And mentioned that one in four had bought their strollers “second hand”.

We have seen the first hand effects of parents getting a “good deal” at an auction site and then call us when they have received a faulty stroller or need warranty attention and they are shocked to learn that they don’t have a warranty.

It appears the one of the most popular models for thieves is the Bugaboo Bee! You have a lot invested in your quality stroller and it should last you for years. Make sure you keep an eye on it when you are out and about. You may want to consider a lock such as the BuggyGuard Stroller Lock to help you secure your stroller.

I will try to find some information on US stroller thefts but I would imagine that we have the same thing going on here. If you would like to read the original article it is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11703640

Whew….we have been back from the Vegas show for a few days but I feel like I am just now getting caught up. We saw a lot of great things on the 2011 horizon for all you stroller lovers! A lot of the manufacturers are really thinking outside the box when it comes to their new line ups. We will be giving you more details about new models as they become available but here are a few interesting strollers that we saw in Vegas!

- Baby Jogger introduces a new color for 2011, Purple! It is going to be available on both the City Select where it is called “Amethyst” and on the City Mini where it is simply called, Purple. It is areal deep kind of purple and my initial conversations with people have me believing this will be a love it or leave it type color addition. What do you think about the purple? Is it gender neutral?

City Mini Purple

City Select Purple

- I had to swing by to see new phil&teds Sub 4 running stroller. I can almost guarantee that you have never seen a running stroller like this. Note my decision to use the term “running” instead of “jogging” to describe this phil&teds Sub 4. The stroller is made for the serious runner. It looks fast just sitting there on its big 20″ wheels that are stopped by, get this, twin disc brakes! This stroller has disk brakes! I still can’t get over that. The Phil and Teds running stroller also features what they call a “motion control hub” that helps create a very stable ride regardless of the terrain and the dynamic frame flexing capability helps keep the wheels grounded over uneven ground. While we don’t think this will hit every mainstream jogging mom’s trail, we think it may find a place among those seeking that something different for their run.

Phil & Teds Sub 4

Sub 4 "World's Fasted Jogger"

- Mountain Buggy has a cool new accessory for the “big brother” or “big sister”. It is a “freerider” buggy board and scooter. It attaches to your stroller like a traditional buggy board but then the child can gain a bit of independence and turn it in to his own scooter! Pretty cool. In buggy board mode, the child can hold on to the Freerider handlebar instead of the stroller handle bar which should make it more comfortable for both of you. So it doesn’t compromise your own stride or comfort the Freerider can attach over to one side of the stroller and away from the direct center. And of course the big benefit of this is hours of endless fun scooting around the neighborhood! Currently this only works with Mountain Buggy strollers but they are working on getting a model that is compatible with other strollers.

Those are a few of the new products that we saw coming out. We will post more details as were learn them! Let us hear your thoughts on the Baby Jogger Purple color!

On a personal note, I have to say how proud we are of Valco, US. Usually the new Valco lines ship in June or July so we are constantly fielding question from customer who want to know why we are still shipping them a 2008 stroller in May of 2009. Well this year folks, Valco is welcoming a brand new decade with their brand new 2010 stroller colors.

Although there are no functional changes between the later model year 2009 EX Twin and Single Trimodes, the 2010 Twin and Single Trimodes have arrived in all brand new colors. Valco has also jazzed up their stroller colorways, but putting the accent color in the canopy extension. It really pops when the canopy is fully open! Plus you can order now for a free Valco snack tray (valued at $26) included with your order (while supplies last!) You can also grab up a 2009 EX Single Trimode version for a fabulous sale price!

The Valco Ion in the single and twin versions were released in a small supply in the fall but due to its immense popularity, it is now fully in stock and we know why. I’m preparing a blog just about the Valco Ion which I use and love, but it’s safe to say for now – this is one lightweight you’ll reach for everytime.

Lastly the brand new Valco Latitude EX is now in stock (in most colors, the rest come in February). The new Latitude EX has an extendable canopy for better coverage as well as a higher seat back and longer legrest to fit taller children. We have heard from some customers that version one of the Latitude did have a few reliability issues. Customer feedback and roadtests have revealed that the Latitude EXs are more consistent with Valco’s usual high standards and durability. If you want to snap up a great deal though – check out the Open Box Latitude Twins on our website now for a steal!

So check out the new Trimode colors below and tell us – which new color is your favorite?

Baby Jogger has cooked up lots of changes for the Baby Jogger City Elite and Summit stroller lines for 2010. The 2010 models are slated to arrive in January 2010 to greet the new year and this is what you can expect to find.

Baby Jogger Stroller 2010 Changes:

1) They moved the City Elite footbrake to be a hand-level brake (this is great because it allows #2)

2) All Baby Jogger models will now fit a toddler wheeled board – FINALLY! This includes the City Mini and the Summit XC and the City Select!

3) City Elite models will have air chamber tires – this means no pumping or maintenance

4) Baby Jogger will have a special 20th anniversary performance Series Stroller

5) Baby Jogger will introduce a light fixed wheel running stroller with 16″ wheels called the FIT priced at a low $299

6) The Red/Black City Elite color will become Crimson/Grey (stunning) and the Royal/Black City Elite color will now be a Sky Blue Sport (Very attractive and a lot less bold).

7) The City Micro will get a bright flame Red color.
Lastly but probably most popularly, Baby Jogger will roll out City Minis with larger baskets in 2010. It will be a rolling change which means if you ask us whether it has the bigger basket we won’t be able to tell since SKUs won’t change but it should be on all models in Jan/Feb 2010. YAY!

A few things we didn’t love:

1) The City Elite single got 2 lbs heavier. Due to the air-chamber tires and the handbrake. We assume the double got heavier too but we have not weighed it.

We had to separate out all the Summit changes since they rocked!

Why the Summit XC can finally compete with the BOB:

- Baby Jogger gave the Summit XC a handbrake! So there is now an awesome swivel wheel stroller on the market for all of you hill dwellers who have been begging for one.

- Baby Jogger moved the same nice arched canopy from the City Elite models onto the Summit XC models. We did notice it had 1″ less height than the City Elite models though.

- Baby Jogger lowered the fixed handlebar height to make it more comparable to the BOB Revolution height, thus fitting shorter parents better.

- Baby Jogger’s addition of the handlebar brake allows it to fit taller parents better since they can’t kick the brake by accident.

-Baby Jogger increased the recline on the Summit to be almost full.

- Baby Jogger changed the wheel to be 3 branched spokes which they assured us was the best tire construction and would eliminate the wiggling tire rotation that some Summit users experienced in the past.

- Baby Jogger is NOT raising the price at all of the single or the double or triple!

Congrats on some nice upgrades!

Finally our we adored this product GIVEAWAY.

Not only did Baby Jogger turn their city mini parent console into a universal parent console to fit all strollers (coming 2010) but they also added an AUDIO version that can hook up to an ipod/iphone/MP3 player to a speaker for music to push by anywhere you go! WOW! You can even face the speaker towards you for your enjoyment or towards your baby/toddler if you want to keep them happy (Raffi) or make them smarter (Baby Einstein).

We adored this so much that we immediately asked Baby Jogger to offer up one to our dedicated blog readers and they agreed! Although this product is not out until Jan, 2010, through Oct 3rd 2009, you can enter to win the Baby Jogger Universal Parent Console with MP3 Output as soon as it is available for purchase!

Ok if you’ve been following any of the show news, then you have probably heard to the n’th degrees about how Bugaboo has gone “RED.” They are partnering with the famous and quite ubiquitous RED charity efforts to bring effective, life-saving as well as preventative Aids treatment to Africa. While companies like Apple and Gap have pledged a % of sales of their RED branded products to the cause, Bugaboo is proud to announce (and tout non-stop) that they are going to be donating 1% of ALL product sales to RED campaigns, not just sales from their RED branded products.

I’m having computer issues now so I can’t download our photos but I will add them in the next couple of days. RED branded products include a dark grey-ish denim Cameleon (base and top). It is very attractive and sleek but does not look as blue as their current denim. There is a white leather diaper bag of Bugaboo’s new diaper bag line. There is also a red tailored fabric set (at Neimans only) with “Adore(red)” on the back of the canopy (very cute) as well as a cream top’ed Bee with “Treasu(red)” on the back of the canopy (available at Giggle only).

The Bugaboo Diaper Bag – it is a round-ish oval shape. It is cute and sleek with the requisite pockets inside for organization and diaper changing pad. It has a long (but adjustable) strap to fit anything from Dads messenger style or Moms more purse-style. What we don’t like about it: it doesn’t attach to strollers – even theirs. Am I the only one who thinks it is crazy for a stroller branded diaper bag not to attach to their strollers? I’m not all match-y but if you want that feature (and it is one reason to buy a stroller diaper bag for many people), it doesn’t match their line at all. Lastly, give the price point, I would rather have a really well designed Skip-Hop, Baby Mel, or Ju-Ju-Be. I don’t see what the attraction to this $100 + diaper bag except that it is branded by Bugaboo.

Bugaboo also unveiled the new Bee Plus to select retailers.

It is the upgraded Bee due out late Winter 2010.

The Bee Plus will have:

- a height adjustible seat to give taller children more room under the canopy as they grow

- a wider leg room area

- no wings (halleluyah!)

- a much easier to switch seat reversal method

- upgraded wheels for better suspension/smoother rolling

- a slighly smaller canopy (though its still good)

- a $629 price point (yes that is a $100 increase!)

It was a dark room in a club, hard to really see it and play around with, but it does look like a promising second generation Bee!

Last but not least, the universal wheeled Board for all Bugaboos will be out in October. It is $99 ($20 price increase) but fits all 3 bugaboos with 3 different attachments included. It is easy to fold out of the way in the pinch of a strap. It is also shorter so that parents will kick it less while walking – that will be very welcome I’m sure.

OK – back to work. I’ll add photos later I promise but for now enjoy the first treat of our Vegas spoils of new information!

P.S. Credit to our fab rep Liz Cioffi for our Ti(red) title!
