At Let’s Go Strolling we follow several of our favorite blogs as well.  Quite of few of them have been posting up a storm and banding together on this usually slow holiday weekend to help out fellow bloggers after a recent tragedy with blog auctions (read below for details)

How this silent auction works:

1) Please place your bid by leaving a comment with your Bid Amount in the comments section of the item you are bidding on. Check the comments to see the most recent High Bid.

2) Following the close of the auction, I will contact the winner (make sure your comment bid includes an email address or link to your blog or some way to contact you). The winner will pay the amount of their winning bid to the Stephanie and Christian PayPal account. The winner will then forward the PayPal receipt to gabrielle@designmom.com and she will put the winner in touch with us. We will then send the item.

3) Please bid in increments of whole dollars (i.e. if the last bid is $51, don’t bid $51.50.) The auction will end at Midnight PST on Thursday, September 4, 2008.

A Bit More about the Nie Nie Auctions and their origin:

There was a horrific accident that happened to well-known blogger, Stephanie Nielson & her husband Christian. You may know Stephanie from her blog, the Nie Nie Dialogues or her beautiful home tour that appeared in Cookie Magazine.   Both Stephanie and her husband were in a plane crash Saturday, August 16th, in eastern Arizona. Stephanie and Christian both remain in critical condition while their 4 small children are being cared for by friends & relatives. Stephanie has third degree burns covering 80% of her body, while Christian has third degree burns covering 30% of his body.  Their recovery is going to be very long and very expensive, likely reaching the millions.

One of our favorite blogs Design Mom is acting as a clearinghouse for all the auctions and listing them on their website.  There is everything from amazing memorabilia (Signed Maroon 5 guitar) to spa weekend at luxe hotels to fabulous baby blankets, gift, diaper bags.  At this point there are well over 350 auctions.
