When I was pumping with my first - I had this incredibly complicated Medela Hands Free pumping set which involved extra pump pieces that went over mine and a special bra I changed into each time I pumped. UGG!
With my second I discovered an ingenious solution called the Easy Expression Bustier. This was a piece of materials with holes that zipped over my bra (so I didn’t have to remove it) and held the pumping horns in place while I pumped.
While I loved this solution and it met my needs well - I have since found out about this awesome hand-free pumping website with instructions. Now all you need is a nursing bra and a couple of rubber bands and you are good to go! For every nursing mother out there who doesn’t want to bother with extra bras and equiptment - this solution is for you.
Easy to implement and set-up each time you pump - this is a fabulous no-cost solution for busy pumping moms-on-the go.
We hope you find it as cool as we did!
I have to say, I’ve done both and find the rubber band method really annoying. It worked fine as an emergency measure (when the bustier was dirty or forgotten), but was too fussy for me. Maybe I did something wrong, but I could never get the funnel to stay in place until the pump was running, and still it kept slipping. I also found that futzing with the rubber bands was way more annoying than zipping up the bustier. Yes, the bustier costs money. But for my 9 months of pumping 4 days a week, it was well worth the 30 bucks I spent for the headaches saved.
