Please note: This is a fabulous stroller for younger children but does have smaller seats which make it a non-ideal choice for larger and/or older toddlers. Also the Navy color has been discontinued. Lastly, Jane USA does random quality control checks and opens strollers - they are not opened by Let's Go Strolling!
The Jane Powertwin is a tandem two-seater designed for fun and use in nature or the neighborhood. With its swivel wheel and disc brakes, this genuine all terrain vehicle provides a safe and comfortable ride out in the open country or going over the bumpy sidewalks of your favorite urban hang-outs. When parents complain that tandems
"drive like a tank" they haven't tried the revolutionary design of the Jane Powertwin tandem stroller. Go through doorways, along sidewalks, or on a naturewalk with one of thinnest, lightest all-terrain strollers on the market.
More Technical Details: All three wheels are 11" air tires with wheel hubs are made of a siver colored polymer. The two rear wheels can easily be removed to make the stroller even more compact. The front wheel is a 360 degree swivel wheel with a fender than can be locked into a forward facing position. This front wheel has a disc brake that is actuated by a lever connected to the stroller's handle. There is a lever to lock both back wheels. Both seats have a 5-point harness with padded shoulder straps. The rear seat has a padded head rest area. The seats are 8" deep with an additional 2" rounded flap in the front of each seat. Each seat is 16" in height and approximately 13" wide. The front seat lies back to approximately 45 degrees and the back seat lies completely flat for a newborn. For the front seat, over the front wheel, is an 8 1/2" wide by 6" deep horizontal metal footrest with perforated with holes, black finished. The back seat child has rubber type material hanging foot rest which is riveted in place to both sides of the frame of the stroller. This stroller has an adjustment for two settings for the tension of the ride.
Please note that the Jane Powertwin only accepts the Jane Rebel carseat which is not currently sold in the US or US approved. The company is working on bringing the Rebel carseat to the US but it will not be out until late 2007 at the earliest.
